When I walk into a room or a place; the atmospheres most change because I am a “change agent”. Change agents change everything around them that must be changed. Question: what have you changed today?

Is This You? I wrote an article a few days ago about the signs of spiritual abuse and how to recognize this type of abuse within a church. After the article was written, I was asked by someone to talk about the effects of this type of abuse because they had a friend that was still struggling with the effects of spiritual abuse. Also some people are still trying to say that this abuse is not real and that there could not possibly be any effects to such a thing. Over the past 17 years as a social worker, I have worked with many victims who have experienced all types of horrific forms of abuse; from child abuse victims to sexual abuse victims, elderly abuse, domestic violence victims, victims of assaults, human trafficking, etc. You name it; I have pretty much worked with them. Which One Are You?

The other day I ran across one of my old 2010 journals. While reading some of the things I wrote my eye caught a particular journal entry. It was an entry for the month of August 2010. In that month of the August journal entry, I wrote about David and his son Solomon; a passage in the Bible from I Chronicles chapters 22 and 28 . I was encouraged to share this journal entry from 2010 with my readers at this specific time. To describe what I was hearing in my spirit I first must give a quick overview of what was going on in chapter 28 . During that time David had called a meeting with all of the most important people in Israel. David then stood up and made an announcement to the people that he had wanted to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord and he had begun to make plans to start building this mighty temple. Where are you getting your power from? Have you ever been around someone or a group of people for a period of time and when you went home you were completely exhausted and did not know why. I recently had a family function and you can imagine how draining family can be sometimes. Just the idea of going to this function made me tired. To my surprise, after attending the event, I was surprised that I felt great. I was not tired or drained at all. I asked myself what was different about this family function for me not to be so drained and exhausted…nothing. Everyone was still themselves. They had not changed at all. I realized that the night before my best friend challenged my thinking. She told me that if I go to the function thinking that it would not go well then it will not go well.
